Leopard’s Midnight Prowl Causes Panic in Maharashtra Village
A suspected leopard attack in Shirur Kasar, Maharashtra, led to the deaths of a horse and sheep, sparking fear among local farmers. The incident occurred while shepherds from Bhigwan camped in Fulsangavi. Forest officials are investigating and advising precautions, as leopard sightings have increased recently.

A leopard attack is suspected to be the cause behind the death of a horse and sheep in Shirur Kasar tehsil, Beed district, Maharashtra, officials reported. This event has sparked panic in the local farming community.
The incident unfolded at around 1:30 am in Fulsangavi, where shepherds from Bhigwan, a region in Pune district, had set up camp for grazing their animals. Forest department officials, upon inspecting the area, stated that the leopard attack hypothesis will be confirmed with post-mortem reports.
There have been reports of leopard movements in the area for the past 15 days. To mitigate risks, forest guard Dadasaheb Joshi has suggested avoiding nighttime outings and advised villagers to carry torches and sticks as preventive measures until a solution is implemented.
