Visa Denial Halts Partey’s World Cup Journey
Ghana's Thomas Partey will miss the World Cup match against Panama as his visa for Canada was denied. FIFA clarified it isn't involved in the visa adjudication process. Partey will join subsequent games despite ongoing legal issues in the UK, with him maintaining innocence.
Ghana's midfielder Thomas Partey will not participate in their upcoming World Cup match against Panama due to a visa denial, FIFA announced on Friday.
FIFA stated that Partey's application to enter Canada was rejected by Canadian authorities, and emphasized its non-involvement in the host country's immigration processes. Partey, who remains in Boston with his team, will play against England and Croatia in subsequent matches.
Partey, a former Arsenal player now with Villarreal, is embroiled in legal issues in the UK, facing allegations of rape and sexual assault. He denies these allegations.
