A man has been arrested in Jharkhand's Godda district for allegedly operating a fraudulent scheme that promised jobs to unsuspecting students and job seekers. The police conducted a decisive raid in the Rupiyama area on Friday, following a tip-off, and apprehended the suspect, a resident of Maheshpur.

According to Godda SDPO Ashok Kumar, the scheme involved setting up a fake office under the guise of IRCTC to lure unemployed youths. Around 150 victims were swindled out of a sum exceeding Rs 1 crore, with some of the gang members hailing from Dumka district.

The accused has confessed to the crime and has been placed in judicial custody. An FIR has been lodged, and efforts are ongoing to track down additional accomplices involved in the operation.
