EU Holds Firm on Russia Talks Amid Ukraine Conflict
The European Union's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, expressed that the EU is not currently ready to initiate talks with Russia regarding the ongoing war with Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of strategic patience in pushing Russia towards genuine negotiations.
The European Union is currently taking a firm stance on discussions with Russia about the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. According to Kaja Kallas, the EU’s foreign policy chief, the conditions are not ripe for such talks.
Speaking at a news conference in Cyprus, Kallas explained that the EU needs to demonstrate 'strategic patience' to compel Russia into meaningful negotiations.
In her statement, the foreign policy chief emphasized the need for a measured approach, suggesting that premature talks may not bring desired outcomes in addressing the complexities of the conflict.
