The European Union is standing ready to respond to any violation of the trade agreement with the United States, a deal which was signed last summer, Spain's Economy Minister declared on Monday.
His statement comes just before a Eurogroup meeting in Brussels, where finance ministers will convene. Carlos Cuerpo expressed hope that Washington would adhere to the 2025 trade agreement terms, especially after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a significant hike in tariffs.
Trump's plan to raise tariffs on European car and truck imports from 15% to 25% has prompted concerns, leading the EU to consider all options at its disposal to address potential disruptions and ensure fair trading practices are upheld.
